Hello, I'm Tamara Hallock, and I bring a unique blend of educational expertise and artistic passion to my art instruction and tutoring. With my Master’s Degree in Education and 30 years in teaching Special Education and Art, I have worked with students of all ages, helping them achieve academic success, essential life skills and discover their creative potential. I'm committed to creating a supportive and enriching environment where every student can thrive.

Services

  • Academic Tutoring: Individual tutoring covering all academic subjects. Sessions are typically 1 hour long, with adjustments available for younger students (30-45 minute sessions).

  • Art Lessons: Individual and group art lessons for all ages. Lessons are typically 2 hours long, with flexibility depending on the project or student needs. Summer art lessons are also offered in a concentrated, multi-day format.

Example Pricing

  • Academic Tutoring: $50 per hour (individual)

  • WATERCOLOR Art Lessons:

    • Individual: $70 for a 2-hour session, $40 for a 1-hour session

    • Group of 2: $60 per student for a 2-hour session, $35 for a 1 hour session

    • Group of 3-4: $55 per student for a 2-hour session, $32 for 1 hour session

Scheduling


Tutoring sessions and art lessons are available generally Monday to Saturday from 10 to 12 am. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. Contact me to discuss availability and to schedule your sessions.


Payment Policies

  • Payment Options: Cash, check, or online transfer. Payment is due at the time of the service. Clients with multiple sessions per week may pay for the week at the first visit.

  • Late Payments: Tutoring will be discontinued if payment is 2 weeks late until payment is made. Delinquent payments sent to collections will include collection fees payable by the client.

  • I reserve the right to discontinue services for non-compliance with the financial policy.

Cancellation Policies

  • Single Session Class/Workshop:

    • More than 72 hours before: Full refund

    • Less than 72 hours before: No refund

    • Cancellation by Instructor: Full refund or reschedule option

    • No-Show: No refund

  • Multi-Session Course:

    • More than 1 week before: Full refund (minus a small administrative fee $5-10)

    • Less than 1 week before: Full refund (minus the cost of the first session and an administrative fee, e.g., $10-20)

    • After the First/Second Session: No refund

    • Cancellation by Instructor: Refund for remaining sessions or reschedule

    • Missed Session: No refund

  • Private Tutoring Sessions:

    • More than 48 hours before: No charge

    • Less than 48 hours before: Full charge

    • Cancellation by Tutor: Reschedule or no charge

    • No-Show: Full charge

  • All refund requests must be made in writing (email is acceptable). Refunds will be processed within [Number] business days. No refunds for missed sessions. I reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a class due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. A small administrative fee may apply for processing refunds.


What to Bring


Please bring or send your child with a water bottle and a healthy snack for each session. Label all items with your child's name. Inform me of any allergies or dietary restrictions.


Drop-Off/Staying


Parents are encouraged to drop off and return at the end of the session to minimize distractions. Parents of younger students may stay for the first session or two. Please discuss any concerns in advance.


Tutoring Contract


A tutoring contract must be signed before instruction begins, outlining all payment, scheduling, and cancellation policies.


Summer Art Lessons


Summer art lessons can be offered in a concentrated format (e.g., 4-5 days). These may have different scheduling and policies, which will be communicated before the program starts. Sessions are generally 2-3 hours per day.
